Dear Centenary Church Family:
We will gather for Worship at 10:15 AM this Sunday. March 26th, as we observe The Fourth Sunday in Lent and One Great Hour of Sharing. Please read the brochure which was included in the March Lamplighter and will be enclosed in our worship bulletins this Sunday, and use the attached envelope to share a generous gift for the One Great Hour of Sharing special offering. As indicated, this annual asking provides valuable support for our United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR), enabling 100% of our special offerings for UMCOR appeals to go directly to assist in the work of the appeal. Our Celebration of Founds Coins offering for March is for UMCOR’s emergency appeal for the Philippines, following the devastating mudslides of last month, and 100% of your gifts will be directed to the relief and rehabilitation ministries now going on in the Philippines.

Austin Banks, President of the Centenary Men’s Club, has issued an invitation for the Men of Centenary to attend an “Emergency” meeting of the Centenary Men on this Sunday, March 26th, at 8:30 AM in the Sunshine Room.
I believe Austin has some ideas to share with us about ways in which the men of Centenary may become more involved in several projects at the church. I hope to see many of you there.

Dear Friends in Christ:
Our 2006 Lenten University will gather in Room 20 (March 22nd) at 6:30 PM for “Bread and Broth” and for the study session which will follow. Because of the need to cancel last Wednesday’s session, Pastor Bauknight has indicated this week will be a compilation of two sessions and two soups: Moses and Vegetable Soup & Joshua and Chicken Soup. Sounds delicious and intriguing. Hope to see you there.
For those involved in the Wednesday evening study on This Holy Mystery, we will begin our study at 7:30 PM in the Sunshine Room, but you are invited to come early and enjoy the bread and broth and fellowship prior to our study session.

Dear Centenary Church Family:
This Sunday, March 12th (The Third Sunday in Lent), we will celebrate Women’s Sunday during our 10:15 AM Worship service. A number of women from our congregation will lead us in various portions of the service. Many of the prayers, our songs of praise, and hymns have been written by women, or relate to the theme of the morning. Assistant Pastor Terrilisa Durham Bauknight and some of the “young ladies” of our Centenary United Methodist Youth will share a special message with the children, after which they will be dismissed for Sunday School classes–see the announcement below.) Pastor Bauknight’s morning Message, Cleaning House, is based on the account of Jesus’ cleansing of the Temple in John 2:13-25. We will also hear the reading from Psalm 19. The women of our Chancel Choir and the young women of our Junior Choir will blend their voices to sing A Canon of Praise by Natalie Sleeth. Our Celebration of Found Coins is designated for the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) Emergency Appeal for the Philippines in the wake of the disastrous mudslides in February.
