Dear Centenary Church Family:

We will gather in our Sanctuary at 10:30 AM this Sunday, September 30, to share in Music Appreciation Sunday Worship. The Harris Ringers handbell choir will start us off with a beautiful rendering of To a Wild Rose by Edward MacDowell (arranged by Frances L. Callahan) during the Time of Centering. We will sing Charles Wesley’s great hymn, O For a Thousand Tongues to Sing as we open our service. After we participate in a brief time of music recognition and dedication, our Junior Choir will share Making Music for the Masterby Hank Beebe.

Sunday, September 16 – Dedication of Sunday School Teachers / Sacrament of Baptism

Dear Centenary Church Family:

We will gather at 10:15 AM this Sunday, September 16, 2007, to celebrate and praise God on the 16th Sunday After Pentecost. Michael Savoia will share a special word with the children, after which we will share in the dedication of our faithful 2007-2008 Sunday School Teachers and Staff. We will be join together in the administration of the Sacrament of Christian Baptism for Preston Christopher Masigla, infant son of Ponciano & Arlene Masigla. Assistant Pastor Terrilisa Durham Bauknight will bring the morning Message, What If You Were the Lost One?, based on the readings from the Gospel of Luke 15:1-10 and the prophet Jeremiah 4:11-12, 22-28. Our Chancel Choir will sing Amazing Grace/Pachelbel’s Canon by Jean Anne Shafferman. Our Celebration of Found Coins for September is designated for the Volunteer-in-Mission Trip to Mar del Plata, Argentina, on November 3-11.

METUCHEN (Sept. 6, 2007) – A benefit Art Auction, featuring art, memorabilia and glass priced one-third to one-half below gallery prices, will be presented on September 29 at Centenary United Methodist Church. The Art Auction will benefit Centenary’s Mission Committee, which is sponsoring a work trip to Mar del Plata, Argentina, in early November.

Sunday, September 2, 2007 – Final 9:30 AM Worship / Sacrament of Holy Communion

Dear Centenary Church Family:

We will gather for Worship at 9:30 AM this Sunday, September 2, 2007, for the final time this Summer. Because of the Labor Day weekend, there will be no Children’s Summer Sunday School program…however, Child Care will be available during the service. (On Sunday, September 9, we will return to our regular schedule of Worship and Sunday School of Pre-K children through 12th Grade Youth at 10:15 AM.) I will share a special word with the children this Sunday. My morning Message, Jesus, the Beggar, is based on the Scripture readings from Luke 14:1, 7-14 and Hebrews 13:1-8, 15-16. We will receive and welcome Timothy and Jong Sook Nee officially as members of Centenary. Tenor Patrick Layton will share special music with us during the Offering, before we prepare to celebrate the Sacrament of Holy Communion. Our Celebration of Found Coins for September will be designated for the Volunteer-in-Mission Trip of members of Centenary to Mar del Plata, Argentina, in November.
