Cathy Savoia has been committed to the education and development of young people throughout her life. She has served as Director of Children’s Ministry at CUMC since 1998 with a great passion and enthusiasm, and has touched the lives of countless children in that time.

Cathy has been a master teacher in the Perth Amboy school system for the past five years, where she is responsible for 18 classrooms. Prior to that she was a classroom teacher, and taught kindergarten for 15 years.

Originally from Skowhagan, ME., Cathy graduated from Glassboro State College (now Rowan University) in 1974 with a bachelor’s degree in music education. She also has teaching certificates for grades K-8, and for ESL (pre-K through 12),

Cathy’s husband Mike currently serves as vice-chairman of Centenary’s church council. The Savoia’s have been married for 35 years and reside in Perth Amboy.
