Drew Frisbie is in his first year as Student Assistant Pastor at Centenary United Methodist Church. His role at Centenary includes an emphasis on working with CUMC’s youth program.
Drew, 25, is presently a second year seminary student at Drew University in Madison, N.J. He first gained experience in youth ministry as an undergraduate student at Westminster College in Salt Lake City, where he earned a B.A. in aviation management. He helped lead his youth groups on three mission trips during that time, and has also worked at United Methodist Camps in Oregon in the summers of 2009 and 2010.
Originally from the Portland area, Drew counts sports, music and nature as three primary interests. He began skiing as a 1-year-old, started riding horses at age 3, and was a member of the varsity soccer team at Westminster. Last summer he learned to guide white water rafts on the McKenzie River in his home state of Oregon. He is looking forward to eventually going into Camp and Retreat Ministry.
Drew also enjoys playing the guitar, and firmly believes that music can serve as unifying force to bring people together. A lifetime UMC member from the Oregon-Idaho conference, Drew grew up in churches where both of his parents were pastors.
