The Annual Ash Wednesday Service
Centenary, New Dover and Wesley United Methodist Churches

This year’s service held at Centenary United Methodist Church. Pastors Darryl Duer (New Dover UMC), John Jung Kwon (Wesley UMC), Assistant Pastor Terrilisa Durham Bauknight, and Pastor John Painter (Centenary UMC), and lay persons from each congregation, share in leading this annual service marking the beginning of Lent.

Pastor John Painter offers a brief Message on the theme Be Reconciled to God, based on the Epistle reading from 2 Corinthians 5:20b-6:10.

The choirs of the three congregations prepared special music for this service: New Dover, Just As I Am; Wesley, Where Are Shepherds Now?; and, Centenary, Blessed by the Bread, Graced by the Wine. During the service there will be an Imposition of Ashes and celebration of the Sacrament of Holy Communion.
