Beginning on April 15 at 9:00 am in the Sunshine Room, the Adult Education Class will embark on a six-week study based on Rev. Mike Slaughter’s latest book “Change the World: Recovering the Message and Mission of Jesus.”

Rev. Slaughter’s message is ” … it is time for churches to get over the cruise-ship mentality of being a program provider, and reconnect with the true message of Jesus: to bring good news to the poor, release to the captives, and freedom to the oppressed. The church is called to be a mission outpost, living out Christ’s ideals in today’s world.”

Rev. Slaughter has been the lead pastor of Ginghamsburg UMC, near Dayton, Ohio, for the last 30 years. During theat time, Rev. Slaughter’s church grew from 90 worshipers a week to over 5,000, and is making a global impact.  Rev. Slaughter says, “… the true greatness of any local church is measured not by how many worshipers are in the pews on Sunday mornings but rather by how many people are serving the marginalized in our world.”
