“Shake it Up” – Where Kids Carry Our Recipe

The Café was named “Shake it Up” because Jesus calls us to “shake up” our lives and become his followers. The Bible gives us the recipe: be ready for God’s call, give happily to God and to others, and believe fully in Jesus as God’s Son.

Our culture is embracing healthy eating habits. More households are choosing home-cooked meals to increase family time and improve nutrition. We will be making fruit salad, harvest trail mix, oatmeal cookies, and smoothies.

Each Bible story will help children understand how God’s people prepared for celebrations, what happened at some of the feasts, and how other activitiess took place in ancient times.

On Aug. 4th we will be taking a trip to the Turtle Back Zoo.

Please fill out the registration forms as soon as possible. Our church is air conditioned and we have small wading pools for the children. Further information will be sent to you after we process the registration form.

Centenary’s Vacation Bible School is always eagerly anticipated by children throughout the community. Interactive events, arts and crafts, and spiritual awareness, where VBS makes the Bible come alive, highlight a typical day’s activities.

Every year for one special week during the summer, VBS inspires a child’s imagination with a theme that makes for a memorable experience.

In recent years, VBS participants enjoyed:

• “High Seas Adventure” in 2010, where children explored the mighty word of God, filled with incredible Bible learning experiences that kids saw, heard, touched and tasted. There were crafts, team-building games, songs and tasty treats. A highlight of the week was a trip to the Turtleback Zoo;
• and “Rome” in 2009, where children explored a crowded Roman market place, tiptoed past Roman guards, encouraged Christians in an underground church and visited Paul for daily discoveries about Paul’s life.
