Thirteen women of Centenary attended the Annual Women’s Retreat during the weekend of November 18-20, 2011. This year’s theme was “Come Celebrate.”
During our time together we celebrated who we are, as women of God and daughters of the Almighty. Discussion focused on how we celebrate, when and why and what are our joy stealers. Special focus was given to women of praise and the artwork that was created.
In addition, a special piece was rendered concerning the writing of a letter to one’s self points of Thanksgiving outside of this Thanksgiving Holiday Season and the remembrance of Leah and the Testament of Judah – regardless, “we will praise the Lord, anyhow!”
Outside of the session, time was spent on late Saturday at Peddler’s Village for a time of extended fellowship and, of course, food. Our return was on early Sunday morning (versus our usual Sunday afternoon in order that we might witness and celebrate with the Centenary Family as Arthur Stanley and Emily Rose Woodfield were baptized).
In the Spring of 2012, the Centenary Women plan to have an overnight retreat (Friday-Saturday), with the first choice for the event being Ocean Grove, New Jersey. The theme for this 24-hour event is, “Just Kickin’ Back – In the Spirit.” For our Annual Fall Retreat in 2012, we will look again to travel to Irish Village in Cape Cod at sometime in October.
All interested are encouraged to mark your calendars and get ready for other opportunities for spiritual renewal and fellowship.
