ADULT CLASS LOOKS AT THE STORY OF TWO KINGS
This Sunday morning, December 21, Centenary’s Adult Class will travel with historian and teacher Ray Vander Laan to the Holy Land to discover fascinating truths about the events surrounding the birth of Jesus. In a 25-minute video presentation called “The True Christmas Story,” Vander Laan weaves the archaeological evidence with biblical teachings and the historical record to contrast two kings: Herod the Great, the Roman-appointed King of Judea from 37 B.C. to 4 B.C. who was renowned for his magnificent building projects, and Jesus of Nazareth, who was born in a lowly manger that was more likely the dank, sooty mouth of a cave hewn from rock than a stable made of wood. Join us this Sunday morning at 9:00 AM in the Sunshine Room for this fascinating look at two kings whose lives briefly intersected 2,000 years ago.
