We will be discussing The Social Principles of the United Methodist Church as these relate to John Wesley’s concept of the Quadrilateral: the reliance on Scripture, Tradition, Experience and Reason in the interpretation of social issues and moral discernment. The Social Principles and Quadrilateral method will be applied to understanding the position of the United Methodist Church on Capital Punishment as a critical social issue of our times. If you are interested in participating in these sessions, please speak to Bob Carlson or Pastor John Painter to receive a copy of The Social Principles of the United Methodist Church.
