Dear Centenary Church Family:
Our schedule of Summer Worship and Sunday School at 9:30 AM begins this Sunday, June 24, 2007, in our air-conditioned Sanctuary. Michael Savoia plans to have a special word for the children before they are invited to participate in a Summer Sunday School program for elementary-age children. Assistant Pastor Terrilisa Durham Bauknight’s Message, Go Ahead, Break the Law, will be based on Paul’s Epistle to the Galatians 3:23-29 and a portion of the Hebrew Scriptures: 1 Kings 19:1-15a. Baritone Lester Gesteland will share Safe within Your Arms by Mark Hayes during the Offertory. Our Celebration of Found Coins for June is designated for the ClothesLine Ministry.
Refreshment Sponsors Needed: Please Note: No one has signed up to sponsor refreshments for this Sunday, June 24. Persons are invited to sponsor the time of coffee and refreshments following our Sunday Worship services. Please consider sponsoring a refreshment time and signing up for one of the available weeks on the 2007 Refreshment Chart posted in the Narthex. Thank you for providing hospitality on a Sunday morning.
Congratulations to our 2007 High School Graduates: In addition to the three young women listed in last Sunday’s bulletin, we want to add Allison Fritsche to the list of those who have graduated from High School this month. Allison plans to attend Middlesex County College in the fall. We apologize to Allison and her family for omitting her name from the printed bulletin last Sunday.

Sponsored by the Greater New Jersey Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church, Aldersgate, in Sussex County and Pinelands in Burlington County offer a variety of exciting summer camp programs for children and youth ages 6-17. Programs include: archery, sailing, horseback riding, Bible studies, canoeing, swimming, fishing, and performing arts, to name just a few. The mission of our camps is to provide, in a natural setting, facilities and program support which will enable our campers to grow in their relationship with Christ. (Scholarships are available) If you would like to learn more please visit the Aldersgate website at: www.aldersgatenj.com or call us at 973-383-5978. Pinelands Center can be reached at www.mtmisery.com or 609-893-3354. Scholarship assistance is available through Centenary Church. Please speak with Children’s Ministries Director Cathy Jean Savoia to get additional information about these programs and appropriate registration forms.
On Saturday July 21st, Aldersgate will be sponsoring a concert at the camp that combines a fun day out with an opportunity for the whole family to experience spiritual renewal. The gates will open at 2:00 PM, the pool will be open so bring your suit, as well as boating and fishing on the pond, along with the many winding trails on the property. Bring a picnic or join us for a Bar-B-Q around 5:00 PM. Our evening will culminate with a concert starting at 7:00pm with guest speaker Terry Weaver and the Tommy Bowman Band.

Some Thoughts for This Week:
In its deepest sense, love is the life, the energy, of God in us. – Kallistos Ware
You cannot do a kindness too soon, for you never know how soon it will be too late. – Ralph Waldo Emerson
The most important thing I have learned over the years is the difference between taking one’s work seriously and taking one’s self seriously. The first is imperative, and the second disastrous. – Margaret Fontey
Rely on the ordinary virtues that intelligent, balanced human beings have relied on for centuries: common sense, thrift, realistic expectations, patience, and perseverance. – John C. Bogle
“The three great essentials to achieving anything worthwhile are; first, hard work, second, stick-to-it-iveness, and third, common sense.” – Thomas A. Edison
It takes less time to do things right than to explain why you did it wrong. – Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
Prayer and meditation have an important part to play in opening up new ways and new horizons. If your prayer is the expression of a deep and grace-inspired desire for newness of life—and not the mere blind attachment to what has always been familiar and “safe”—God will act in us and through us to renew the Church by preparing, in prayer, what we cannot yet imagine or understand. In this way our prayer and faith today will be oriented toward the future which we ourselves may never see fully realized on earth. – Thomas Merton, Contemplation in a World of Action
A strong positive mental attitude will create more miracles than any wonder drug. – Patricia Neal
O God, to those who have hunger give bread; and to us who have bread give the hunger for justice. – A Latin American prayer. Quoted in Cry Freedom, by Charles Ringma.
The best way to knock the chip off your neighbor’s shoulder is to pat him on the back. – Unknown
